The Challenge
L.T customers wanted real-time tracking. However, data was trapped in an on-premise SAP system that only updated batch files overnight. They needed a 'Data Mesh' to liberate this data and serve it to web/mobile apps instantly.
The Solution
GTEMAS built a Middleware layer. We used Change Data Capture (CDC) to detect changes in the SAP database logs instantly and push them to Kafka. An Apache Camel integration layer then transformed this data and pushed it to a high-speed MongoDB read-layer for the customer apps.
Architectural Strategy
Event-Driven Architecture (EDA). Kafka as the central nervous system. MongoDB as the 'Operational Data Store'.
Impact & Achievements
Real-time visibility reduced customer support calls by 40%. The middleware became the foundation for their new 'Digital Forwarder' product.
