The Challenge
Training autonomous vehicles requires massive amounts of clean, labeled data and endless simulation hours. Doing this with high-cost European engineers was unsustainable. They needed a secure, low-cost, high-quality center to handle the 'heavy lifting' of data processing and simulation scenario creation.
The Solution
GTEMAS established a secure GDC focused on Data & Simulation. Data Ops: A team of 15 specialized data annotators and QA engineers processing LiDAR/Camera data. Simulation: A squad of 8 C++/Python engineers building virtual scenarios (pedestrian crossing, bad weather) to test the AV stack virtually before road tests.
Architectural Strategy
Air-gapped network segment connected via dedicated leased line to German HQ. Local HPC cluster for simulation rendering.
Impact & Achievements
The GDC accelerated the client's algorithm training cycle. What used to take months of road testing could now be simulated in days, speeding up the path to Level 4 certification.
